Facing Fear: Be Brave. Be Bold.
Today I believe God has revealed something to me. Let me paraphrase a well known bible verse, "When I was a child I played as a child plays, but when I became a man I put away childish things." I believe God is asking me to put away childish things, and I feel compelled to do so.
One childish thing I need to get rid of is fear. Fear and I go way back. Fear has stood beside me or has hung over my head all my life.
Today I decided that I will be leaving fear behind, because there has been something else following me all this time. As my fears have been chasing after me, something else has been running them down just the same.

Truth. Simple, wonderful, beautiful truth. Now I realize as I ran away from fear I have also been running away from truth. So today I stop running. There is no doubt that fear will catch up to me, but the truth will too. I have learned that fear is extremely afraid of truth, because with truth comes light. When light comes, darkness fades and fear has no where to hide. When truth turns the light on you see how amazingly small fear is.
You realize that all this time you were running away from a mouse. The sad part about it is that at the same time you've had a mouse trap in your back pocket. What's the trap? The bible.
Reading the word will bring forth the truth and the truth about you is that you are amazingly powerful. You already have victory over whatever it is you are facing because you have God. He has conquered this world for you by giving you a sacrificial lamb, a Savior. When you get that Word and that truth in you, fear will know something is up. You'll be put to the test and fear will try its hardest to make you run again. Don't run. Stand there with your trap in your hand, and when truth finally catches up to you, watch fear scurry away.

Today I'm setting the trap for fear. I have been praying to God for courage and holy boldness. But God doesn't magically bless you with the things you want all at once. Instead he gives you the opportunities to get them yourself.
He's saying to you: "You are not an infant. An infant cries to their father because they desire something which they, themselves cannot obtain. When the Father hears the infant, he tends to its needs. But you are not an infant. You have the power to face your fears because I have already equipped you to conquer them. You are a big girl/boy now."
Now I know I have the power to face anything that comes my way. All this time I have been crying out for a gift that he gave me on the day I was reborn. God is truth and light, and when you have truth and light you also have power over fear.
